Senior Backend Engineer (Turkey/Denmark/US/Vietnam - Hybrid/Remote)

We’re in search of a Back-End Software Engineer that specializes in server-side components. In this role, you’ll primarily work in Java, Golang, Python, and C++ and will bring a depth of knowledge on basic algorithms and data structures. As a Back-End Software Engineer, on any given day you might be architecting new features for our customers, refactoring existing code to be more scalable, and seeing changes through to completion in a live environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop features and improvements to AXON Orchestrator in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, Data science, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, environment.
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
  • Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale environment.
  • Conduct Code Review within our Code Review Guidelines and ensure contributions receive a swift review.
  • Recognize impediments to our efficiency as a team ("technical debt"), propose and implement solutions
  • Confidently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members.
  • Participate in Tier 2 or Tier 3 weekday and weekend and occasional night on-call rotations to assist in troubleshooting product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues.
  • Collaborate with the team on larger projects.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience with Java and Golang / Rust language.
  • Professional experience with message queuing patterns and concepts.
  • Track record in implementing solutions in high throughput environments via distributed transactions.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
  • Comfort and familiarity with the code review process.
  • Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely fast pace engineering organization.
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work closely with other departments
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization
